PRP is an incredible new option for women experiencing sexual dysfunction or simply wanting to boost their enjoyment of intimacy. If you’re considering a PRP treatment, you’re likely wondering what to expect and whether it’s worth the investment. At Tideline Center for Health & Aesthetics, we’re intimate health experts and can help you learn more about the many benefits of PRP for sexual health. Here’s what to know about PRP and what you can expect after treatment.
Immediately After Treatment
Some women notice minor improvement on the same day as their treatment. That’s because PRP begins working immediately to enhance blood flow and grow new tissue. Some initial results can also be caused by the self-investment involved in seeking treatment in the first place. But for the first few days after your treatment, you may find you enjoy sexual activity more and receive greater enjoyment from it.
1-3 Weeks
For one to three weeks after treatment, you’ll begin to see more noticeable improvements. By this point, your body will have started growing new tissue and establishing better blood flow. You might notice better vaginal lubrication, more intense climax, enhanced sensitivity all around the vulva and vagina, and less discomfort during sexual activity. These improvements will steadily continue over time, and you might even notice that, in general, you feel greater sexual desire and favor sexual activity more.
3-4 Months
By now, the full regrowth of tissue will begin to manifest. It takes time for the body to generate new collagen, which helps support the vaginal tissues and promote overall pelvic health. By now, you may see improvement in concerns like vaginal laxity, incontinence, and dryness. These improvements will continue over the next months and can be supported with subsequent treatments.
12-18 Months
At around one year after your treatment, we recommend returning for another session. Regular, annual maintenance treatments can extend your results and more fully treat your concerns. Some women see PRP results last for up to 18 months before requiring another treatment session. We recommend 12 months because it can help ensure continuity and avoid disruption of your results.
