What to Expect During a Pulse Wave Therapy Session

If you’ve opted to go through with Pulse Wave Therapy (also known as Shock Wave Therapy), you likely have some hesitation about what your session will be like for this non-invasive intimate health treatment. At Tideline Center for Health & Aesthetics, our professional team will take every step to keep you relaxed and informed. We understand that it can be difficult for men to address problems like erectile dysfunction, and we create an empathetic environment where you can feel comfortable. Here’s what to know about your upcoming Pulse Wave Therapy session and what you can expect.

Your Consultation

First, you’ll have a one-on-one consultation with our intimate health providers. This is an important opportunity to share your concerns, experiences, and treatment goals. We encourage you to ask any questions and discuss any potential causes of erectile dysfunction and lifestyle changes that may benefit you. Our providers will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan and provide an estimate of the number of sessions you may need. While this conversation may initially feel uncomfortable, we’re committed to understanding your needs and concerns to provide the best possible care.

The Treatment

During the treatment session, you’ll be shown to our comfortable and private treatment suite. Your provider will use a specialized handheld device on specific areas of your pelvic region, focusing on areas with significant blood flow. Pulse Wave Therapy is not painful – most patients report a tingling or mild vibrating sensation. Overall, treatment takes about 20-25 minutes, after which you can go about the rest of your day.

After Treatment

Afterward, it’s normal to have some redness in the treated area, which is a good sign since it indicates healthy blood flow to the area. You’ll likely return for a series of six treatments, which are spaced every other day or twice per week. With a full treatment package, you’ll begin to see results within one to two months, with firmer, longer-lasting erections and overall improved sexual function. These benefits can last one to two years, especially with maintenance treatments at our office.
